In autumn 2005 the ambitious project based on an idea of Daniel Barenboim started: „Education by and with music“ with a very committed supporting institution, highly qualified kindergarten teachers, close cooperation with Staatsoper and above all regular honorary visits of Staatskapelle musicians: the Musikkindergarten Berlin.

The children experience music in all its different aspects and in its unique capability as a transfer medium into all the other educational areas. In this context, the method, the aim, and the experimental ground is not only education in or with music, but through music. The kindergarden will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in September 2015. In almost ten years, more than 250 children, representing approximately 22 nationalities and cultural backgrounds, have benefitted from this initiative.

In 2010 mani design consulting developed a logo for the kindergarden that reflects the experimental and joyful approach towards music. It stands for broad and integral learning experience through the means of music which enables children to access the world around them in a million ways.

The logo was also adapted for the friends and supporters association of the Musikkindergarten, the Foerderverein Musikkindergarten Berlin, that was established in 2013.
